Haitham Haidar
Biography
Haitham Haidar is a Canadian-Lebanese-Palestinian tenor known for his luminous voice, musical sensitivity, and deeply human approach to interpretation. A graduate of Yale, McGill, and UBC, he is currently based in Montreal.
Sought after for his musicality and storytelling, Haitham regularly appears as a soloist in oratorio, opera, and chamber music across North America, Europe, and Asia. His recent engagements include Bach’s St. John Passion (Evangelist) at the Winnipeg Baroque Festival, Early Music Vancouver, Zefiro Torna at the Morgenland Festival (Germany), Orchestre Arion, TENET Vocal Artists (NYC), and Folger Consort (Washington, DC). He is also a soloist on Conspirare’s Grammy-nominated album House of Belonging.
As a member of the Kaleidoscope Vocal Ensemble, he is committed to artistic excellence and equity in classical music education. His debut solo album, Zaytoun, will be released in August 2025. It explores the intersection of Baroque and Arabic music, weaving poetry and improvisation. For Haitham, singing is an act of compassion and resistance—a way to touch hearts and imagine a more just world.
