Denise Torre Ormeño
Biography
Denise Torre Ormeño is a Chilean soprano born in France. She trained at the University of Chile and obtained a Master’s degree in classical singing with honors from the Université de Montréal. She specializes in interpreting music from the Middle Ages to the Classical period, particularly sacred music. She has performed numerous operatic roles, including premieres of works by contemporary composers.
As a soloist, she has performed on major stages in Chile and with several renowned orchestras and ensembles, including the National Symphony Orchestra of Chile. She has participated in various seminars and master classes in Chile and abroad, including courses in orchestral conducting. In Canada, she sang with many local ensembles and orchestras and was appreciated for her “delicacy and great musical refinement.” During her recent visit to Santiago, Chile, she performed Mozart’s Requiem with the University of Santiago’s Classical Orchestra.
Her upcoming solo engagements include the Festival International du Domaine Forget and the Festival International de Musique Baroque de Lamèque, among others.
